South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will be active as EI2WRC/P from the Butlerstown & District Vintage Society Show today Sunday the 28th July from Butlerstown, Co. Waterford from 1:00pm. This is a great fun filled family day out with lots of attractions for all the family. There will be a large display of vintage cars, bikes and vintage engines with loads of attractions for the kids including bouncing castles. So if you’re looking for a great family day out why not come on down and while you’re here drop into the SEARG demonstration where the SEARG crew will be happy to explain all about Amateur Radio to you.

The July meeting of the South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford on tomorrow night Monday the 29th of July at 8.30 p.m. The meeting will be preceded by a committee meeting at 8.00 pm sharp and as always new members are very welcome.

North Cork Radio Group & Radio Electronics Fair

The NCRG will hold their radio rally on Sunday 15th September 2013. The event will be held at the Commons Inn, Blackpool, Cork and doors open at 11.00am.

Limerick Radio Club

A team of operators from Limerick Radio Club will be taking part in the IOTA contest next weekend from Inisheer on the Aran Islands ITA Ref: EU-006, using the callsign EJ0A. The team have been on the island 25th July and will continue until 29th July.

Limerick Radio Club would like to congratulate club members Kieran & Felix on passing their exams recently and look forward to welcoming 2 new callsigns on the air.


DX News

Ulf DL3UB will be on holidays in the Faroe Islands from 29 July – 9 August. Look for him signing the call OY/DL3UB. He will concentrate on CW on the WARC bands.

The well-known Falkland Island operator Bob VP8LP is operating as ZD8LP from Ascension Island until 5 August. During June he operated as ZD7LP from St Helena Island. QSLs for both calls go via his home call in the Falklands.

Three Ukrainian amateurs will be active from Namibia during the first week of August. Callsigns will be V5/UX0HX, V5/UZ1HZ and V5/UT5UY. They will be active on all bands 10 – 80m CW and SSB.

Jeff W7JVN will be working at a Church Mission in Ghana for the next 16 months. He has been issued with the callsign 9G5AC and will operate 100w to a dipole on 20 and 15m SSB when time and conditions permit.
