Just because we are on our summer break does not mean that the Club is not active. This week-end, July 28th and 29th, listen out for the Club call-sign MN0VFW, as several keen members will be active from Coney Island, a small wooded island on Lough Neagh, the largest inland waterway in the British Isles. While Coney does not qualify for IOTA, we hope to have some fun giving away points during the Islands contest. Our website www.muarc.com lists all the usual club info plus many photos of our activities.
Bill K9HZ will be QRV from St Lucia as J68HZ from 4 – 19 August. The IOTA reference is NA-108 and he will be active on all bands 40 – 6m. QSLs go via his home call.
Stefan DL4ST is in Afghanistan until the end of September. He is active as T6SS and so far has been worked mainly on 20m.
For those that missed the recent 9M0L DXpedition to Spratly Island there is another opportunity coming up to work this quite rare DXCC entity. From 7 – 13 August John 9M6XRO and Steve 9M6DXX will be active from Spratly using the callsign 9M4SLL. They will be on 80 – 10m using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL manager is M0URX.
