Limerick Radio Club will host the 84th Annual General Meeting of the Irish Radio Transmitters Society over the weekend of 9th & 10th April 2016. The venue will be the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Ennis Road, Limerick.
There are 4 Workshop Talks arranged for Saturday 9th April. The talks are free and start at 2pm sharp. Everyone is welcome.
Tickets for the Dinner on Saturday night 9th April, (7.30 for 8.00pm) cost €35 each (same as last year!) and are available from Tony EI2AW QTHR Golf Links Road, Castletroy, Limerick.

The 2016 South Dublin Radio Club AGM will take place on Tuesday 5th April at 8.30pm. All members are asked to attend. Amateur Radio classes are ongoing every week on a drop in basis. Please call by.
The Galway VHF Group will be running the Club Station EI4ALE which will count towards the St Patrick's Day Award. The station will be operating on 80, 40 & 20 metres and possibly on 15 and 10metres if the bands open. Whilst the operation will predominantly be phone, operators will use Data Modes during the course of the day. Look up EI4ALE on QRZ.com for more details of the operation.
On Sunday 28th March, KARG will participate in the Maurice Collins vintage day, near Banna, County Kerry. KARG will be QRV as EI1K from 10am on 40M to 6M bands to facilitate activation of WAI square Q72 and Maidenhead square IO52ci.
On the following day Monday 29th March, members of KARG will participate in the spring leg of the IRTS 2M Counties contest, so it looks like a very busy weekend of events for KARG.

The Belgian telecoms regulator, IBPT, has issued a decision permitting access to the new WRC15 60m allocation for all Belgian Class A amateur licensees (also known as the HAREC licence).
The allocation is from 5351.5 to 5366.5 kHz on a Secondary basis with a maximum power of 15W e.i.r.p. All modes are permitted.
Belgian amateurs now have wider access to 4m. The band 70.1125 to 70.4125 MHz has now been made available with a maximum power from the transmitter output of 50W. Secondary status with all modes available.
The next meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will be held at Cahir House Hotel, Cahir, County Tipperary on Tuesday 22nd March 2016 at 8pm. There will be a presentation made at this meeting by Olivier ON4EI/EI8GQB on the use of green energy to power his contest station EI1A.
IRTS President Ger EI8CC will also attend this meeting which is open to all and Short Wave Listeners are in particular very welcome.

Herbert DK2BR is in Vietnam until 26th March. He is operating holiday style from Con Son Island (IOTA AS-130) with the callsign 3W2BR using verticals on 40m to 10m SSB, RTTY and PSK31. QSLs go direct to his home callsign.
Noel F6BGC returns to the Maldives from 12th to 22nd March and will activate his 8Q7NC callsign for the fourth time. He will be on 40m to 6m SSB, CW and RTTY. QSL via his home call and logs will be uploaded to Logbook of The World.
A group of 4 Norwegians will sign VK9CK from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands from 15th to 26th March. Operation will be on 160m to 10m SSB, CW and RTTY. During the Russian DX Contest (19th to 20th March) LB1GB will use the callsign VK9/LB1GB.
Nobuaki JA0JHQ has been issued with the callsign A52NH which he will use from 17th to 21st March from Paro in Bhutan. Activity will be mainly on 80m to 15m CW. QSL to his home call via the JA Bureau.
