YOTA

Cork Radio Club

The Annual Dinner for Cork Amateurs will be held in Midleton Park Hotel on Saturday December 5th where a four course meal will be served starting at 8pm.

Tickets are €25 each and are available from Dave EI4BZ on 087-6290574 or by email at ei4bz /at/ eircom.net.


South Dublin Radio Club

This year's South Dublin Radio Club Christmas Party will take place on Tuesday 15th December.

The venue will be the same as last year, "The Morgue", Tempelogue Village from 8pm until late.

Members of other clubs and visitors are as usual very welcome to this social event. Limited free food will be available for paid-up members; visitors can choose from the bar menu until 9pm. The club will then break for Xmas and return on January 5th 2016


DX News

Martin W8AKS will be active as 8P9EZ from Barbados from 5th to 12th December. He will operate on 40m to 10m and logs will be uploaded to Logbook of The World.

Haru JA1XGI will operate from the South Cook Islands as E51XGI from 3rd to 10th December. Operation will be on all bands 160m to 10m, CW, SSB and digital. QSL via the homecall.

Antoine who normally is resident in Fiji using the callsign 3D2AG will be travelling to the separate DXCC entity of Rotuma from mid-December until mid-January. While in Rotuma he will use the callsign 3D2AG/P. He will be using solar power and a Spiderbeam/wire antennas on all bands 80m to 6m.

Freddy F4HEC will be travelling in the Pacific region during December. Look for him as KH2/F4HEC from 3rd to 9th December from Guam. This will be followed by activity as KH0/F4HEC from Saipan in the Mariana Islands from 10th to 13th December.

Pedro C5WP will be active in The Gambia from 12th December to 9th January. He also hopes to operate from Western Sahara & Mauritania. C5YK is leaving the country permanently leaving Pedro as the only ham left in The Gambia. He is planning to bring delta loops for 80m as well as operating on the higher bands.


Coolmine Rally February 2016

The Coolmine Rally operated by the Phoenix Amateur Radio Club will take place at Coomine Communicaty School, Grove Road, Dublin 15, D15 FW97 on Sunday 14th February 2016. Doors open 10am.

Tipperary Amateur Radio Club

The Annual General Meeting of the Tipperary Amatuer Radio Group will be held at The Park Hotel, Clonmel on Thursday 3rd December 2015 at 8pm. This is the most important meeting of the calender year and all group members are asked to attend. Short Wave Listeners are in particular very welcome. South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The November meeting of SEARG will take place on Monday 30th November, tomorrow night, 8pm sharp. In a departure from our regular meeting format, our November meeting will take place in conjunction with South East Maker Space (SEMS) and will be held at the SEMS workshops in Waterford (located at the old Munster Express printing works). Members of SEMS will give a talk about what they do and show us around the workshops. There will also be a number of projects on display for the night of the meeting. We strongly encourage all our members to make an effort to attend this meeting. Hurdy Gurdy Vintage Radio

The Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio had a pop-up museum at the HearSay Festival in Kilfinane County Limerick last weekend. At the festival a "radio with pictures" interview with Pat Herbert was shown. It will be aired next Friday on Australian radio, and also on Public Radio International on Thanksgiving (Thursday). ab.co/1NdFntD
