The Limerick Radio Club are pleased to announce that they will be traveling to Inisheer Island from 19th to the 21st of July inclusive. The callsign in use will be EJ0A.

M40, Co. Clare
Paul EI6FE apologises to all that he has not yet been able to operate from M40 Co. Clare as promised some time ago. He has not forgotten about this rare square but has been waiting for the weather to clear up. Any good weekend so far has clashed with domestic duties. He still intends to activate this square. There will be plenty of advance notice of the operation.
Trip to Inishkea The planned trip to the Inishkea south Island by Joe EI3IX has had to be again rescheduled due to weather conditions. It is necessary for winds to be below 20 mph in order for the ferry to sail. It is hoped that the trip will go ahead on Sunday the 4th of August.
Paddy EI7GK will be QRV from his daughters' house in Mexico during the month of July. Listen out for XE1/EI7GK on SSB on 14.268MHz, 18.115MHz and 21.317MHz and if conditions permit on 7.068MHz. He will be calling CQ for EI, GI and MI stations and will take part in the Irish hour on Sundays on 21.317MHz.
While Paddy is QRV from Mexico, Nuacht as Gaeilge will be read by EI6HY.
An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place at 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday the 24th of July 2002 at the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford. All members are asked to attend this meeting.
Digital Radio Mondiale in the Netherlands is carrying out tests from between 21:30 to 23:25 UTC nightly on 15.520 MHz in simulcast mode. Simulcast mode allows for analog and digital signals to be transmitted on the same frequency at the same time.
The well-known Australian standard time and frequency station VNG will stay on the air for another 6 months, the station which was scheduled to cease operation on the 30th of June last, is now re-scheduled to shut down on the 31st of December 2002. The reprieve was the result of representations from Radio VNG users.
The International Lighthouse / Lightship weekend will take place on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of August 2002.
The IOTA (Islands On The Air) CW/SSB will take place on the 27th and 28th of July.
