The WAI Counties Awards for 2015

Introduction

The Worked all Ireland Counties Awards for 2015 are designed to encourage WAI activity during 2015, with awards based on working or hearing a combination of WAI squares and counties.  Awards are available to licensed radio amateurs and SWLs.

Bronze, Silver and Gold awards are available, depending on the number of counties and WAI squares worked.  Band and mode endorsements are available, however no repeater or crossband QSOs are accepted.

Award Rules

Bronze

From 1st Jan 2015 to 31st Dec 2015, work or hear —

  • 20 counties and 20 WAI squares
  • 18 of the counties must be from EI and 2 from GI
  • The WAI square of the station worked must be logged
Silver

From 1st Jan 2015 to 31st Dec 2015, work or hear —

  • 26 counties and 26 WAI squares
  • 22 of the counties must be from EI and 4 from GI
  • The WAI square of the station worked must be logged
Gold

From 1st Jan 2015 to 31st Dec 2015, work or hear —

  • 32 counties and 32 WAI squares
  • The WAI square of the station worked must be logged

Log Submission

Award claims should be addressed to the Awards Manager

The log submitted should include the following information on each qualifying QSO:

  • Date and time
  • Band
  • In respect of the station worked (or heard) –
    1. Call sign,
    2. County, and
    3. WAI square
Include your email address and award type claimed.

Issue of Awards

There is no charge for these awards.  All awards will be issued as an attachment to an email, allowing the award certificate to be printed when received.
