IRTS Radio News Bulletin Sunday October 10th 1999
It is with deep regret that we learned of the death on Monday September of Ann Copestake GW4YSV wife of Bob GW3LFC and mother of Wendy GW6MUP Anne was a regular user of the Dublin repeater and had visited Dublin a number of times to meet up with the many friends she had made over the years.
Many older users of the Dublin repeater will remember the long QSOs every mid morning which were to become known as the ‘gardening hour’.
Ann was a beautiful person with a great sense of humour and all who knew her will mourn her passing.
On behalf of the EI amateur community we extend our deepest sympathy to Bb GW3LFC and his family.

42nd World Scout Jamboree On The Air (JOTA).
This year JOTA and JOTI will be held over next weekend the 16th and 17th of October. JOTI stands for jamboree on the internet.
This being the last such event of the Millennium every possible effort should be made to get operational for the weekend.
We would ask Radio Amateurs to make the first move and contact their local or regional Scout organisation and offer their services.
We expect all the regular stations to be operational from Galway, Mayo, Dublin, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
Please remember to send a report on the weekend’s activity to the National JOTA Organiser, Pat EI9EZ at QTHR, E-Mail firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 058-52295, so that you can be included in the International JOTA report.
