IRTS Radio News Bulletin Sunday 10th January 2016

Counties Contest

The 80 metres counties contest on New Year's Day was well supported, with stations active in most counties. Band conditions were reasonable, with a low noise floor. This year, for the first time, a final score bonus linked to CW QSOs was on offer in the mixed mode contest sections, to encourage more CW activity. This incentive seems to have worked, and we noted a big increase in activity at the CW end of the band.

The contest manager has asked everyone who participated to submit their log - even if it's only for a few QSOs. Logs can be emailed to contestmanager /at/ irts.ie or sent by post to Joe EI7GY at his home address (see the call book). The deadline for logs is Friday next, 15th January.
