IRTS AGM Dinner and Rally – 25th/26thApril-
Tickets for the IRTS AGM dinner, this year, held on Saturday 25th April at 7pm are now available from John Ronan EI7IG via email on irtsagm/at/searg/dot/com. The South Eastern Amateur Radio Group hosts this year’s event.

The Rally will be on Sunday 26th with doors opening at 11am and admission is €5. The Trade Show is geared towards a Radio, Electronics, Hobbies and Crafts Show, so there should be something for everyone. All are welcome.
Fingal Radio Club
Again this week EI2FRC and Dermot EI2HD will continue their 2metre call-in on Wednesday and every Wednesday at 7p.m. Please try and give your support by getting on the air to keep 2metres alive. The frequency is 145.7625MHz, CTCSS 88.5KHz on the Dublin repeater.
IRTS Region4 Radio Theory Classes
Radio Theory classes in preparation for the next Amateur Station license examination will be held in Limerick depending on numbers. Time to Return IRTS Trophies and Cups
Time to return all the trophies and cups presented at last years AGM in Galway.
Items can be given to any IRTS committee member by March 25th, or if more convenient returned to the IRTS stand at the Limerick Rally on March 29th.
This will allow any cleaning, repairs and up to date engraving to be done.
SDR Net - On the Move
The South Dublin Radio Club Net (SDR Net), which has been operating, for over 2 years, on 40 meters on a Sunday morning following the IRTS 40 Meter News, is on the move. It will now be on 7.123MHz +/- QRM and will run from 10 am to 11 am, prior to the IRTS 40 Meter news.
All EIs are welcome to call-in and it is hoped that by having a fixed time, that this change will afford, other EI, especially those that may be waiting for the IRTS News will join in and help expand both the coverage and participation in the SDR Net.
South Eastern Amateur Radio Group
SEARG will continue their 2m net on Tuesday nights after the IRTS weekly news. This is to promote the use of the 2m band that has seen a decline in use. The intended frequency is 145.400MHz. To date there have many call-ins and everyone is welcome to join in.
The 2015 AGM of the South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford on tomorrow night Monday 23rd February at 8pm. New members are always welcome and members are encouraged to attend.

The DXpedition to Robinson Crusoe Island in the Juan Fernandez Archipelago is scheduled to run from 24th February to 4th March. The multi-national team comprises of 23 operators from 7 countries. Included in the team are IRTS members Mark EI6JK, Dave EI9FBB and Ark EI9KC. The callsign will be 3G0ZC and full details of the DXpedition can be found on <juanfernandez2015.com>
Ken LA7GIA who was QRV as 7Q7GIA last May/June returns to Malawi to reactivate his call from 21st to 28th February. QSLs go via his home call.
Werner DJ9KH makes his third trip to Ascension Island from 22nd February to 6th March. This time he is joined by Axel DK9BDN and Christian DL6KAC. The callsign will be ZD8D and they will focus on the LF bands.
Eric KV1J will be active as FP/KV1J from 26th February to 10th March. The QTH will be on Miquelon Island and QSLs go via his home call.
Michael PA5M will be signing 3XY5M from Guinea in West Africa until around 10th April. There has not been much activity from Guinea in recent times so it is expected that he will be much in demand.
Olivier ON4EI in Ireland
Olivier ON4EI, is back to Ireland from 1st March to 2nd April 2015 to operate EI8GQB (EI1A during the ARRL International DX SSB, Russian DX en CQ WW WPX contest). In 2014 Olivier scored, with EI1A, top Europe score in CQ WW WPX, IOTA en CQ WW DX contests in Low Power/Single Op SSB category using mainly green energy with his temporary 'Field Day like' antenna park setup.

Malta on 4m
Malta has been allocated 70-70.5MHz to radio amateurs as from 13th February 2015.
