Limerick Radio Club.

Members of Limerick Radio Club were active for last weekend's IOTA contest from Inisheer using the callsign EJ0A. A very enjoyable weekend was had by the team and the weather was glorious, though HF conditions were not favourable for EI OSO's. Members of the EJ0Y team paid us a visit from their location on Inish Maan, and both teams enjoyed the banter & coffee!!

DXCC Awards

The latest EI DXCC List at www.irts.ie/dxcc shows a number of interesting changes: in particular we note that John EI7BA, a long-time Honor Roll member in the "Mixed" and "Phone" categories, has now joined the CW DXCC Honor Roll - with 331 of the 340 current entities confirmed. As well as becoming the only EI on the CW Honor Roll, looking at the Single Band Status Summary we see that EI7BA has now joined the small group of EIs with DXCC confirmed on 10 bands.

Another highlight in the latest DXCC list is the addition of John EI7IG to the list, bring the number of EI call signs with the DXCC award to 72.

The North Cork Radio Group will be activating Roches Point Lighthouse as part of the International Lighthouse & Lightship weekend using the reference IE010. This is a closed event and only available to members as the lighthouse is on private property but we look forward to getting you all in the log.

We also want to wish good luck to Team Ireland who are heading to Estonia this weekend to take part in YOTA (Youngsters on the Air). Two of our joint members, Jordan and Kelsey are part of the team. Hope you have a great time, learn lots and make new friends from all over Europe!

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The South Eastern Amateur Radio Group was active as EI2WRC/P from the Butlerstown & District Vintage Society Show last Sunday the 28th of July from Butlerstown, Co. Waterford. Although the weather was bad the event had a large crowd in attendance. Band conditions on the day were very poor but we still managed to work a good few stations. Interest from the general public was good with a large number of people asking an array of different questions about amateur radio. Mark’s (EI7IS) buddy-pole antenna was a particular point of interest to the public. SEARG would like to thank the organisers of the Butlerstown Show for their invitation for us to take part in the show.

SEARG will be active again today Sunday the 4th of August (weather permitting) as EI2WRC/P from the Inistioge Vintage Rally from Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny. This is always a great event which draws large numbers of people. SEARG’s visit there last year proved to be a great success. Hopefully band conditions will be good and we look forward to having a QSO with you all.
