The IRTS 2m Counties Contest will take place Sunday 28th August 2011. The closing date for the submission of the log to the contest manager is 27th September 2011.

South Sudan DXpedition

The first DXpedition to South Sudan went QRT during the week, having made over 120,000 QSOs on all bands from 6 metres to 160 metres.

The DXpedition call sign was ST0R [Sierra-Tango-Zero-Romeo] and its log shows 279 QSOs with EI stations. John EI7BA tops the list, with 21 QSOs, covering all the bands used by ST0R, followed closely by Doug EI2CN with 20 QSOs. Both John and Doug managed QSOs on 160 metres, a fine achievement given that ST0R had less than 700 QSOs on that band, due to various problems with antennas, not to mention propagation and atmospherics.
