This news bulletin is read in Irish every Sunday at 11.30 hrs local time on 7.068 MHz. Newsreaders Paddy EI7GK and Mickey EI6HY welcome call-ins regardless of the level of Irish, so don't be shy about calling in even if you can only give "cúig is a naoi". Counties Contest Final Reminder
A reminder to all participants in the Spring 2 metres counties contest that the closing date for the receipt of logs is the 30th of April (2002)! All logs must be postmarked or e-mailed by this date, and this rule will be strictly enforced in order to facilitate the timely preparation of results.

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group
The next committee meeting of South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place at 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday the 1st of May in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford. All committee members are asked to attend.
Rare WAI Squares
Joe Fadden EI3IX is hoping to travel to Inishkea (South island) which is off the Mayo coast either on the 11th or 12th of May, subject to ferry, weather conditions etc.
There are 2 WAI squares on the south island F51 & F52. The maidenhead locator is IO44. Joe intends operating on HF (Mainly 7.068 Mhz) and also on VHF/UHF (2m, 4m, 6m & 70cm) using inverted V's for HF, yagis for 2m & 70cm, Vertical for 4m and possibly a vertical for 6 meters.
If there is any change with the dates due to any unforeseen problems Joe will try and give as much notice as possible.
Terenure Rally
The Terenure Rally will take place on Sunday the 26th of May at Terenure College Concert Hall. Doors open at 11.00 am. Admission is €3.00. For information on stalls, contact George EI2CPB on 086-2586103.
IRTS
The next IRTS committee meeting will take place on May the 18th in Portlaoise.
Space News
AMSAT has announced that two new French Amateur Radio mini satellites or picosats are planned for launch on May 3rd. The satellites will be launched as secondary payloads with the SPOT-5 satellite.
The two hamsats are being funded, designed and built by AMSAT-France. Both will transmit recorded voice messages using Narrow Band FM along with digital telemetry. Data will be transmitted at 400 baud BPSK. Downlink frequencies are listed as 145.84 MHz and 435.27 MHz.
