CRC sends best wishes to Stephen EI6JA who will be sailing abroad with the Irish Navy in the New Year for a few months. He hopes to be QRV on HF while away.

IRTS Website

Over the last few weeks, the IRTS website has been migrated to a different web server at verio.com. Although all files were transferred during the process, some scripts, such as the automatic news email delivery script, haven't worked on the new server, and need some modification. Leslie, EI4DU hopes to get this up and running shortly. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

IRTS Committee Meeting

The next committee meeting of the IRTS will take place on Saturday the 15th of December at 11 a.m. in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone.

WAI Activity

The WAI counties award requires all 32 counties be worked in the year 2001. Many WAI hunters need only 1 or 2 counties to achieve all 32 needed. Many are trying to achieve the award working only fixed stations. Some of the counties in short supply include Offaly, Laois, Waterford, Meath, Cavan, Sligo, Monaghan and Carlow. If you live in one of these counties please call into the WAI net on 7.068 MHz on Sunday morning after the Nuacht at 11.30, you will be in great demand, and may qualify some stations for the award.

Contest Dates Confusion

There has been major confusion internationally about the dates for the forthcoming ARRL sponsored Top Band and 10 Metre contests. It has all got to do with the definition of the 'first full weekend', which up to this year has been understood to mean the first Saturday and Sunday of a month. This year, the ARRL Top Band Contest, which starts on the Friday night at 2200, will be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of December and not the week previous as generally understood outside the U.S. Consequently the ARRL 10 Metre contest also goes back a week to the weekend of the 15th and 16th of December.

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The next committee meeting of South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place on Wednesday the 5th of December at 8.00 p.m. in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford. Please note that that all committee meetings of the club take place on the first Wednesday of each month while all general meetings take place on the last Wednesday.
