IMD Event at Ballybunnion Cancelled

The International Marconi Day Event, which is normally run by a group of EI amateurs from the original Marconi site at Ballybunnion will not take place this year due to the Foot and Mouth situation. This site is available but unfortunately is located on farmland and it has been decided by all those involved to withdraw from the event this year.

Worked All Ireland

The WAI net frequency is 7.068 MHz and some Counties seem to have a low profile on this net. Operators (operating from fixed stations) are encouraged to call in to the WAI net from time to time, especially on weekends. So the next time you’re operating on the HF bands, take some time out to call in on 7.068 and promote amateur radio in your area.

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The website for South Eastern Amateur Radio Group has undergone a facelift. The site still has the same address; www.angelfire.com/tx3/searg/ but has a new look and easier navigation. Also there are plans in place to extend the site in the near future.

The club also has information and latest news about it’s activities, meetings and repeaters available to WAP enabled mobile phones. If you have a WAP enabled handheld device point your browser to www.wapdrive.com/searg The group would welcome comments or suggestions about either the normal site or the WAP site.
