Cork Radio Club

Cork Repeater Group
The Annual General Meeting of Cork Repeater Group will be held at the Wilton Park Hotel, Wilton, Cork on Saturday the 4th of November at 12.00pm. All members and intending members are requested to attend.
Fingal Radio Club
IRTS President Dave Moore, EI4BZ was the guest at the meeting of Fingal Radio Club on Monday the 16th of October. A wide range of topics was discussed and an interview with Dave was taped for the ATV repeater group. A good night was had by all.
The Annual General Meeting of Fingal Radio Club will take place on Monday the 23rd of October at 8.00pm in Erin’s Isle Club, Farnham Drive, Finglas. All members are requested to attend.
Tipperary Amateur Radio Group

Monaghan Radio Club
The Monaghan rally which was due to take place on Sunday the 22nd of October has been cancelled due to circumstances outside the control of the club.
Phase 3D Launch Delayed Again
The launch of the Phase 3D Amateur Radio satellite on board Ariane Flight 135 has once again being delayed. The flight has been re-scheduled for mid-November due to a problem with another commercial satellite that was scheduled to ride into space along with the AMSAT satellite. Phase 3D was scheduled for a Halloween launch on Tuesday October 31st from the ESA Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. No specific launch date has IRTS Committee Meeting The next committee meeting of the IRTS will take place on Saturday the 11th of November 2000 at 11.00am in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone. Clubs are reminded that they may send representatives to this meeting.
South Eastern Amateur Radio Group
The next general meeting of the South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place on Wednesday the 25th of October at 8.00pm in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford.
The series of night classes leading up to the theory exam for the Class B license will be starting again soon and S.E.A.R.G. would like to hear from those interested in participating. The extinguishing of the last burning oil well in Kuwait after the Gulf War marked an event, which the nation celebrated in November 1991. On the 4th, 5th, and 6th of November 2000, the State of Kuwait will commerate this national event. KARS will participate by operating a special event station. The callsign allocated for this event is 9K2LOW (Last Oil Well). The station will operate on all bands and modes. There will be special QSL cards for the event, requests for which should be addressed directly to 9K2RA.
The biggest contest of the year, the CQ Worldwide SSB Contest will be held over 48 hours on the 28th and 29th. This is the biggest opportunity in the year to work lots of rare DX. There are lots of different categories you can enter, from single band entries to multi-multi efforts.
VP5T will be active in this contest and will be especially looking for Echo India contacts on all bands and all EI stations making a contact will get a QSL card automatically without having to send a card. This is a special offer for EI stations only. Thanks to Joe Duffin W2ORA for the information.
Irish Amateur Television Club
The Second general meeting of the Irish Amateur Television Club and a Bring and Buy (ATV related items only) will take place in the meeting room at the Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells on the 28th of October. The event will start at 2.00pm and the official meeting will take place at 3.30pm. All ATV'ers and ATV groups are especially invited.
