Shannon Basin Radio Club

The Shannon Basin Radio Club will, again this year, make the beautiful Garbally College Grounds Ballinasloe available and would like to invite Clubs and individuals to take part in the SSB Field day Contest 2015 on the 5th & 6th Sept.

Over the past decade the Garbally College Grounds has hosted this very popular contest which is located 12 miles North of Athlone on the outskirts of Ballinasloe. It’s location is ideal and easily accessible from all parts of the country and as a bonus the grounds have many tall tree’s for supporting all types of antenna installations.

There is a couple of hundred acres available and the location is very suitable for low & high power stations. Over the last decade almost all the winning SSB & CW stations have been very successful in making many contacts in Garbally grounds.

Why not take this opportunity to participate in this year’s SSB contest from Garbally College Ballinasloe? Make a weekend of the event and bring the family; the grounds are also suitable for Camper Vans and pitching tents etc.

Normally at around 18:00 on Saturday evening all transmissions stops for about one hour. This permits everyone to participate in the famous Barbeque with light refreshments and sponsored by the Shannon Basin Radio Club.

Clubs and or individuals who wish to attend and require further details are asked to contact the following, Pat EI9HX pat /at/ donros.ie 087-6767707, Anthony EI6GGB ei6ggb /at/ gmail.com 087-9274611, Brian EI8IU brianei8iu /at/ eircom.net 086-1057325.
